Biggest release talking points

  • According to reports, Venkatesh Iyer, KKR’s 23.75 crore signing, will be released, but the franchise is planning to buy him back for a cheaper price in the mini auction. He had a horrendous season in 2025 and as a result, the team is looking to release him.
  • CSK is set to revamp its entire squad as the core from the last season will be released. All players who failed to deliver the goods - Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Vijay Shankar will be gone as the team has alreasy signed their replacements.
  • RCB looks like the most settled unit as they will release only a couple of unwanted players, including Liam Livingstone and Rasikh Salam Dar. The core of the title-winning campaign will be intact.
  • Surprisingly, LSG have decided to part ways with Ravi Bishnoi. He has been associated with the team since its inception, but perhaps his poor IPL 2025 season, combined with Digvesh Rathi’s rise, has led to this harsh call.
