India's T20 World Cup-winning team, captained by Rohit Sharma, has finally departed the Caribbean for New Delhi after being stranded in Barbados for three days due to Hurricane Beryl.

This disruption came in the wake of their historic victory over South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup final. India emerged victorious against Aiden Markram's South African side by seven runs in a thrilling match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown last Saturday.

In an enthusiastic message to fans, Rohit Sharma and the BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to X (Twitter) to announce a grand celebration.

We want to enjoy: Rohit Sharma

“We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards,” he tweeted.

The Indian team, support staff, and players' families boarded a particular Air India charter flight named Air India Champions 24 World Cup (AIC24WC). The flight left Bridgetown at 4:50 am local time and is expected to arrive in New Delhi on Thursday at approximately 6:20 am IST, where they will meet PM Narendra Modi and later, depart for Mumbai for the victory parade.
