In what could be a massive setback for team India, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup due to a serious back stress fracture. As per reports, the pacer needs a time period of four to six months to recover from the injury.

Notably, Bumrah had recently made his way back into the Indian team after a long injury lay-off. After missing the opening encounter in the Australia home series, Bumrah played the rest two games with modest success, managing only one wicket at a miserable economy rate of 12.17.

After that, the star seamer missed the first T20I against South Africa, developing a niggle. And now, with Bumrah being unavailable for the showpiece event, India's campaign will seriously be affected as he is their primary death bowler.

With the World Cup around the corner, Bumrah's injury has left India ponder over their pace bowling resources going into the tournament. Veteran seamer Mohammed Shami is yet to get some game time under his belt. So, in all probability, this injury has boosted Deepak Chahar's chances of playing the mega event alongside Arshdeep Singh and one between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel.
