Yuzvendra Chahal's problems with his wife Dhanashree Verma has been in the spotlight for couple of months now, and after lot of speculations and deliberations, there are reports that the couple got officially divorced on Thursday, 20th of February.
The report of their divorce has been confirmed by reports from various media outlets like TOI. Also, according to ABP news, the formalities were confirmed at the Bandra family court and the final verdict was handed at 4.30 PM IST according to TOI. However, Dhanashree's lawyer Aditi Mohan has stated that the matter is still sub-judice and media have been spreading lot of false informtation
"I have no comments to make on the proceedings, the matter is currently sub-judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated."
Compatibility Issues Created Rift Between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma
The report from TOI stated that Yuzvendra and Dhanashree attended a counselling session which lasted for 45 minutes and the couple revealed to the judge that they have been living seperately for last 18 months. It has also been confirmed that couple took the divorce by mutual consent and the reason they mentioned for the separation is 'compatibility issues.' The duo got married in December 2020 and from the last few years, there have been plenty of reports of the rift between the two.
Dhanashree was also linked with various her colleagues, and though those link-ups might all turn false, it would have played a role in creating differences between the two. She was also linked with Shreyas Iyer, Chahal's Indian cricket teammate and now Punjab Kings captain. The news of their divorce first started floating in January 2025 when the couple unfollowed each other and followed it up with plenty of cryptic stories.
Both of them have not confirmed their divorce officially on any platform, but have not denied the reports too and in all probability, the official announcement is likely to come soon.
