In what comes as joyful news, Ireland's women's team are slated to tour England for a three-match ODI series in September 2026. The news has been confirmed by both Cricket Ireland (CI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Ireland Women All Set For Three ODI Matches In England

Ireland women's cricket team will be seen engaging in more cricketing action, especially in their 2026 tour of England, as they will tour their neighbours for a three-match ODI series to be played in September.

The first encounter will be played at the Leicester's County Ground on September 1st, whereas the second and third matches will be played on September 3rd and 6th respectively at the County Ground in Derby and New Road, Worcester.

Previously, both sides met in a three-match ODI series in Belfast last year, along with two T20Is, where the visiting England women's team won the ODI series 2-1, while the T20I series was drawn after both sides achieved a victory each.

In the ODI series, England women won the first two games by four wickets and 275 runs respectively, while the third game was won by the Irish women by just three wickets after DLS was enforced.

Interestingly, the third ODI went in favour of Ireland after a dramatic, hard-fought, last-ball finish, where Ireland women chased down 154 on the final delivery after skipper Gaby Lewis scored 72 to power her side to victory.

Director of cricket at Cricket Ireland, Richard Holdsworth, was ecstatic with the development and revealed that it was on the cards, as it comes under the International Women's ODI Championship. It will also pave the way for the 2029 Women's ODI World Cup, as their side will be hoping to qualify.

"It is good to be able to announce these International Women's Championship ODI fixture dates so early as it helps the team plan the rest of their summer in 2026. These are significantly important matches as they are part of the 2029 ODI World Cup qualification structure. We are also pleased to be based in the Midlands and happy that all venues are so close to each other."
