The clinical performances of both departments helped Ireland to win by five wickets and take the lead of 2-0 in the five-match T20I series against Afghanistan on Thursday (11 August).
Irish team restricted Afghanistan to a low score
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Usman Ghani could not get them off to a good start.
Coming at number three, Hashmatullah Shahidi displayed composure to score 36 off 42, while the remaining lineup fell like a pack of cards. As a result, the visitors could only post a respectable total of 122 on the board.
Joshua Little, Mark Adair, Curtis Campher and Gareth Delany took two wickets apiece to topple the Afghanistan batting order.
