The fantasy sports gaming platform, DREAM11, came under scrutiny after the government passed a bill that banned fantasy gaming, and it has forced the online gaming companies to alter their model. DREAM11 was the principal jersey sponsor for Team India, but after the bill was passed, it pulled out of the partnership with the board.

Apart from Indian cricket, DREAM11 also has strong footprints in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and it sponsors numerous IPL franchise jerseys. In this article, we have jotted down 3 IPL teams that need to search for a new jersey sponsor ahead of next season.

1) Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad, the former IPL champions currently have DREAM11 as their main jersey sponsor, and they could soon be without them ahead of the next season. Owned by SUN TV Network, SRH have around 7 months time before the next season kicks-off to find a new principal sponsor for their Orange jersey, which has become a symbol of victory for them.

2) Kolkata Knight Riders

The 2024 IPL champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders jersey, also gets sponsored by Dream11, and the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise will be in the hunt for a new sponsor. However, judging by the team’s p[popularity, finding a new t-shirt sponsor might not be a tedious task.

3) Gujarat Titans

Another team which has DREAM11 as their main sponsor, the Gujarat Titans, owned by the Torrent Pharma won the IPL 2022 edition under Hardik Pandya's leadership, and now the team has to begin the quest to search for a new jersey sponsor after the gaming bill passed by the parliament.

What brands cannot sponsor IPL Jerseys?

Reportedly, BCCI is looking for a new jersey sponsor for Team India, and they have banned gaming, crypto, alcohol, and tobacco firms from putting in a bid. The same logic could be applied while bidding for an IPL team, and the above-mentioned companies might not be able to put forward their names to have their title on an IPL team’s jersey.
