IPL 2026 auction audition: Which South African stars must perform in India T20I series?

Out of momentum, South Africa is all set to play the 1st game of the 5-match T20I series against India. Scheduled at the Barabati Stadium in Assam, the T20I is played only a few hours after the BCCI unveiled the final list of players for the upcoming IPL 2025 Mini Auction. 

Hence, the approaching T20Is serve as a platform for players from both the sides to showcase their mettle.  

The pruned final list contains 350 players, including 10 South Africans. That being said, let's take a look at players from South Africa's squad for the T20I series against India that will go under the hammer in the IPL bidding war on December 16, in Abu Dhabi. 

David Miller, ₹2 crore base price

A proven match-winner, David Miller, has joined the SA squad ahead of the T20I series. Released by the Lucknow Super Giants, Miller has three games to prove his worth. Notably, his power-hitting prowess attracts franchises looking for a lower-order batting option. 

Miller, who has unfinished business in the T20 World Cup, is a wounded lion ahead of the next T20I event. Hence, teams like CSK and KKR can optimise his hunger. 

Anrich Nortje, ₹2 crore base price

Delhi Capitals brought in Anrich Nortje as a replacement for Chris Woakes ahead of IPL 2020. In his maiden IPL season, Nortje delivered the goods for Delhi Capitals, scalping as many as 22 wickets. The right-arm pacer will once again be eager to make his presence felt.

Lungi Ngidi, ₹2 crore base price

Lungisani Ngidi is not all about express pace, but has proved to be a crafty customer in the shorter formats with effective variations. 

The Durban-native picked 11 wickets in seven games at an average of 14.18 during CSK’s 2018 title-winning campaign and was picked by RCB for TATA IPL 2025 at his base price of INR 1 Crore. 

Quinton de Kock, ₹1 crore base price 

A surprise name in the revised IPL 2026 auction players list, Quinton de Kock, marked a last-minute entry. Notably, the wicket-keeper batter was not part of the previous list, which included 1355 names. 

However, three days after his magnificent century against India in the third ODI, de Kock's inclusion is set to be a tactical plan by one of the franchises, looking to acquire an opener.  

Reeza Hendricks and George Linde: ₹1 crore base price

The final couple of South African players on the list are Reeza Hendricks and George Linde, lesser-known names, but they could earn big if they utilise the upcoming T20I series in India.
