Joe Root is arguably the best English player across formats. Time and again, he has proven his worth for his nation and has been a champion player for the last 13 years. When Root made his international debut, England cricket had some great players, but he carved a name for himself and became one of the best in the world.

He is known for his Test prowess, but Root is an equally good ODI player and is an underrated gem in the T20s, as witnessed in the recently concluded SA20 2025. He was included in England's Champions Trophy squad and was also drafted in the ODI series against India. He failed in the first ODI, but has stood like a brick wall in the ongoing second game.

On a not so easy surface, Joe Root stood tall and frustrated the Indian bowlers with his class batting. Fans love to watch him play for England, but they are also interested in knowing if the champion batter is a part of IPL 2025 or not.

Root, did gave his name in the IPL auction, but unfortunately, he was omitted from the final list of players who entered the IPL mega auction pool. A former Rajasthan Royals player, Root is known more for his excellence in Tests, and teams in IPL tend to look for batters who are hard-hitting and explosive, hence, Root was neglected in the auction.

Root, as stated before is an underrated T20 player and was one of England's star in the 2016 T20 World Cup, however, since then, he has been neglected by the selectors for the game's shortest format.
