In a bombshell update, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have dropped legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni from the captaincy role to appoint Ruturaj Gaikwad as his successor from the 2024 IPL season onwards.

MS Dhoni has been leading CSK since he first joined the franchise. Besides being a formidable wicket-keeper batter, his impeccable inputs as the leader have made CSK one of the most successful franchises in IPL.
Having said that, with Ruturaj Gaikwad taking over the reins, MS Dhoni could take a step back, given his struggle with his knee and back.
