IPL 2022 | SRH vs RCB | Jansen scripts comprehensive win for Sunrisers over Royal Challengers

On Saturday, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) put up an emphatic performance with the ball to script an easy victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Brabourne Stadium. It was a walk in the park for the 'Men in Orange' as they reached the paltry target of 69 within eight overs.

The match saw another disappointing outing from Virat Kohli, who registered consecutive golden ducks.

The Challengers lost their first three batters with only eight runs on the board, and it was always going to be an arduous task from thereon. Glenn Maxwell and Suyash Prabhu Desai, the two batters who came in next, were the only two to reach double figures.

The duo scored 12 and 15, respectively. Surprisingly, Dinesh Karthik, who has been hitting the bowlers for fun this season, went back without getting off the mark this time.

After Karthik's wicket, it was only a matter of time for Sunrisers to wrap up the first innings as they struggled at 47/6. RCB could not even last the full quota of overs as their innings ended in 16.1 overs.

Marco Jansen was the wrecker in chief for RCB, sending back the top three in his first over. T.Natarajan also bagged three wickets which included the important one of Maxwell. Jagadeesha Suchith picked up a couple of wickets among other bowlers, whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the express-fast Umran Malik ended their respective spells with a wicket each.

Speaking of the run chase, Abhishek Sharma went off to a flying start hitting 47 off just 28 balls. Kane Williamson, who opened the innings alongside Sharma, played a quiet but steady knock of 16 runs from 17 balls. The only wicket of the SRH camp fell to Harshal Patel.

The New Zealand spearhead and Rahul Tripathi remained unbeaten till the end as SRH moved up to the second spot in the table with 10 points on board. The only wicket from the SRH camp fell to Harshal Patel. RCB saw themselves go down to the 4th spot with 8 points in their locker with this loss.

For his impressive performance with the ball, Jansen walked away with the 'Player of the Match' award.
