IPL 2022 | LSG vs MI | Match 37 Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

The winless Mumbai Indians, in search of their maiden victory this season, will take on the newcomers Lucknow Super Giants in the 37th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The IPL’s most successful franchise, Mumbai Indians, are having nothing but a nightmarish season this year as they have lost all the matches they played so far. Following their previous defeat against CSK, they’ve become the first and only franchise in the tournament’s history to lose the first seven consecutive games. Rohit Sharma’s side is at the rock-bottom in the standings with seven losses.

The backbone of MI - Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Kieron Pollard are yet to fire with the bat while they never looked settled in their bowling attack, with Jasprit Bumrah being their only fine bowler. Their chances of making it to the playoffs have almost vanished, and now as they have nothing to lose, they can make a sound comeback against the newbie of IPL.

The Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, have blown hot and cold in the season so far as they managed to pull out four wins from seven games and are currently placed at the 4th spot of the points table with eight points in their kitty.

Lucknow have covered all their bases with Chameera impressing with the new ball, while Holder and Avesh are their key bowlers in death overs.

In their most recent encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB batted first and posted 181-6 on the scoreboard as Lucknow bowlers’ bowled way too full and hence despite losing early wickets, Bangalore went on to post 180 plus onboard, which Lucknow Super Giants failed to chase as RCB handed them an 18-runs defeat.

Notably, it would be their second face-off in the season. The last time they played against each other, Lucknow Super Giants outsmarted Mumbai Indians by 18 runs. Heading into Sunday’s clash, both the teams will look to grab two crucial points, making yet another intriguing clash at Wankhede Stadium.
