IPL 2022 | Prithvi Shaw set to rejoin Delhi Capitals

Opener Prithvi Shaw is all set to join the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, on Monday evening. The right-handed batter was admitted to the hospital last Sunday after suffering from typhoid.

According to a report in TOI, a source close to the club said the 22-year-old will be available for Monday's IPL game. "When they play their next game against the Punjab Kings on Monday evening, Shaw is very likely to be available.", he said. Shaw last featured for the Delhi-based franchise in their tie against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and has since missed three Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 games on the trot.

The Thane-born cricketer has scored 259 runs in nine games this season, at an impressive striker rate of 159.87.

Shaw who got a new batting partner in David Warner this season has enjoyed his time with the Australian legend. 

They both shared a 93 and an 83-run stand between them in matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and PKBS, respectively. Warner is the leading run-getter for DC, having scored 427 runs at an average of 61.

The Rishabh Pant-led team are currently on 12 points with two games remaining. A loss in any one of these matches could rob Delhi's chances of a playoff spot.
