IPL 2022 | Harshal Patel leaves RCB bio-bubble following sister’s demise

In an unfortunate turn of events, Harshal Patel lost his sister due to prolonged illness on Saturday. Following the sad incident, Harshal, who played a significant role in RCB’s emphatic victory over MI last night, has left the team’s bio-bubble and flown back home.

Harshal, who was bought back by RCB for a whopping amount of INR 10.75 crore, has justified his price tag in the IPL so far. The Haryana pacer has picked six wickets in 4 games at an unreal economy of 5.50, which shows his value for the Faf du Plessis-led side. Also, he was outstanding with the ball against Mumbai Indians on Saturday as he picked two crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and Ramandeep Singh.

He was exceptional with his variations and never let MI’s strong batting lineup gain the required momentum. He conceded just 23 runs in his four overs, which signifies how economical he was against one of the deadly batting units of the tournament.

The news of the sad demise of his sister surfaced on Saturday night, following which the Gujarat-born pacer left the bio-bubble to join his family in these challenging times. It is still unclear when the experienced all-rounder will rejoin the RCB camp and whether he will be in isolation as he has moved out of the bubble. However, as per ‘Dainik Jagran’s reports, Harshal is expected to be available for the game against CSK on April 12.
