IPL 2022 | Gujarat Titans - Fantasy Tips

The new franchise of Gujarat Titans (GT) will begin their journey in IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium. Before Gujarat begins their campaign, let’s look at the players to back and players to stay away from in the case of fantasy leagues.

Untamed: These will be players costing high credits but giving healthy returns most days.

Rashid Khan: In the Indian T20 league, the leg-spinner’s economy rate of 6.33 and has an average of 20.56. His average fantasy points per game stat read 40 points per game. He can contribute with both bat and ball and thus is a must pick for both small and grand league.

Shilly Shally: These players can be excellent one day and below average on the remaining ones.

Hardik Pandya: Pandya is returning to action after a long time. The fact that he will resume bowling can either be an asset or a liability. The dashing all-rounder might be rusty with his form and get hit for runs. On the other hand, returning after such a long time can affect his batting as well, he can be a hit or a miss. In general, he gives an average of 28 fantasy points per game. But for the first few matches, he could be a risky pick.

Mohammed Shami: Cricket experts often term Shami as a ‘rhythm bowler’. The day he hits rhythm, he is unplayable, but the day he is off rhythm, he will gift the match to the opposition. The seamer will give wickets most of the days, but some days he will deduct valuable points from the team. All in all, he bags 24 fantasy points per game.

Unhailed: These players will come at medium credit points but would give above average returns mostly.

Shubman Gill: The youngster is an elegant and steady opener. His IPL average of 32 shows that he is a consistent run-scorer. He also gives an average of 28 fantasy points per game. So, for small league players, he is a good pick.

Stealthy Warriors: This category of players still perform at their full potential in the IPL.

R Sai Kishore: In T20 cricket Sai Kishore has an average of 17.4. Besides this, he has an economy rate of 5.46, which is excellent in T29 cricket. The spinner is yet to make his debut on IPL. If and when he does, he is a must pick as he will give great returns.

Dominic Drakes: Drake is believed to be a potentially dangerous all-rounder. The Barbadian is yet to prove himself, but he can be a good pick if a fantasy player is ready to take a risk.

Imposters: These are players who will be responsible for a dip in the fantasy points of the players.

Varun Aaron: His economy rate in IPL is touching nine runs per over. Generally known as a bowler with pretty less control over his line and length, the Indian seamer will be giving negative points on most days.

Rahul Tewatia: Who can forget those five sixes off a single over of Sheldon Cottrell by Tewatia. But his batting form fluctuates, and his lack of consistency is a big concern. But he can give some points with the ball. Yet backing him blindly could be heavy risk.

Vijay Shankar: The Nidahas trophy final nearly finished Shankar’s career. It was evidence of the fact that under pressure, he is not someone who can be trusted. He is what many call a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer. So, try and stay away from him.
