Mitchell Marsh set to miss white-ball series against PAK, doubts over IPL availability

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan after suffering a hip injury during the training drill. Cameron Green will be Marsh's replacement for the opening ODI on Tuesday in Lahore.

"He's injured his hip flexor, we think, at training. So we will wait and see what that looks like, but I don't think he'll be available for the series based on how he was feeling yesterday," said Australia white-ball skipper Aaron Finch, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

As a result of his latest injury, Marsh could be sidelined for 4-6 weeks, and it has put a question mark on his availability for the IPL.

Mitchell Marsh's injury has opened the gates for Cameron Green to cement his place in the limited-overs format. Green has been a vital cog in Australia's Test side, and it provides a great opportunity for the youngster to cement his place in the white-ball team.

"Cam will play and probably bat in that middle-order role". "We've seen he's a super talented cricketer. He has been quite consistent in his Test career. His impact with the bat and ball can't be understated. Really excited for Cam to get that opportunity", said Australian skipper Aaron Finch.

T20 World Cup hero Mitchell Marsh's injury will cost the inexperienced Australian team, who are already missing star players like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and David Warner. Moreover, Steve Smith was also ruled out from the squad due to an elbow injury.
