Fatima Sana has been ruled out of the ACC Women's Asia Cup slated to take place in Sylhet, Bangladesh from 1 to 16 October.
Sana twisted her ankle in the Women's Caribbean Premier League 2022 during her stint with the Barbados Royals.
Earlier this year, the right-arm pacer became the first Women's player from Pakistan to feature in franchise cricket.
The 20-year-old did not take a part in the preliminary preparation camp for the tournament that took place from 30 August to 2 September.
Afterwards, she was named in the 15-member squad for the show-piece event, provided she recovers from the injury.
However, the PCB Medical Investigation Panel have advised Sana a four-week rest, resulting in her being omitted from the squad. A suitable replacement for Sana will be announced in the due course.
Currently, all the members of the Pakistan team are undergoing a 10-day camp from 18 to 27 September in Lahore, before flying out to Bangladesh.
