The 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is all set to begin on September 30, with hosts India taking on Sri Lanka in the opening fixture at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The eight-team tournament will follow a round-robin format, with the top four teams progressing to the semifinals. The much-awaited final is scheduled for November 2.

Australia will start their campaign against New Zealand on October 1 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. It is important to mention that Pakistan will play all their matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka, under a hybrid hosting model agreed upon by the BCCI and PCB.

The move comes in the wake of diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this year. As a result, teams scheduled to play Pakistan including India will travel to Colombo, which serves as a neutral venue.

India vs Pakistan Clash Set For October 5 In Colombo

One of the most anticipated fixtures of the group stage will take place on October 5, when arch-rivals India and Pakistan face off in Colombo. With political and historical tensions always adding intensity to the contest, this encounter is expected to draw massive global viewership and interest.

The tournament will span five major venues across two countries:

  • India: Bengaluru, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam
  • Sri Lanka: Colombo
  • Each city will host multiple group-stage fixtures, with Bengaluru and Colombo also shortlisted as potential hosts for the final.

Group Stage Concludes on October 26, featuring a double-header that could have major implications for semifinal qualification. England will face New Zealand in Guwahati, while India will host Bangladesh in Bengaluru on the same day.

 Semifinals and Final Schedule

  • Semifinal 1: October 29 in Guwahati or Colombo (if Pakistan qualifies)
  • Semifinal 2: October 30 in Bengaluru
  • Final: November 2 in either Bengaluru or Colombo
