According to emerging reports, Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran has made a last-minute entry into the IPL 2026 mini auction list, courtesy of his extraordinary performance in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Despite registering his name at a base price of INR 30 lakhs, Abhimanyu Easwaran had initially failed to make it into the final list. However, the experienced batter has apparently been added to the final list of players who will go under the hammer in the IPL mini auction, scheduled on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.

Easwaran becomes latest entrant in IPL auction list: Report

Abhimanyu Easwaran has showcased remarkable form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Renowned for his gritty batting, Easwaran has channelised inner stroke-player, amassing 266 runs at an average of 44.33 and a strike rate of 152.

While his reputation of a Test specialist initially shattered Easwaran's dream of bagging an IPL contract, his batting exploits in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has helped him make a dramatic comeback to the IPL auction list.

As reported by Cricbuzz, one of the ten IPL franchises has apparently forwarded Easwaran's name, prompting the BCCI to add the Bengal opener to the final list.

Abhimanyu Easwaran recently played a blinder in Bengal's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy encounter against Punjab. After Abhishek Sharma's scintillating 148 powered Punjab to a whopping 310-run total, Bengal managed only 198 runs in 20 overs, losing the game by 112 runs.

However, Easwaran's blistering knock earned him massive praise from all corners of the world. The right-handed batter smashed 130 runs off just 66 balls with the help of thirteen boundaries and eight sixes, emerging as Bengal's lone warrior in a rather one-sided contest.

The report also states that the BCCI will reveal the final IPL 2026 mini auction list on Monday evening. With only 77 slots available, plenty of names are expected to go unsold in the marquee event.
