In a thrilling turn of events, Team India has surged to the second spot in the ICC ODI Men's team rankings, surpassing arch-rivals Pakistan after a stellar performance in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. India secured their berth in the final after a decisive victory over Sri Lanka on 12th September.

Australia, currently perched at the top of the leaderboard with a rating of 118, faces stiff competition from India, who trail closely with a rating of 116. Pakistan, once leading the pack, now finds themselves in third place with a rating of 115.

The race for the coveted number one spot in ODIs is becoming increasingly intense, setting the stage for a gripping showdown as the ODI World Cup 2023 looms just around the corner.

The recent upset suffered by Australia at the hands of South Africa in the third ODI of their ongoing series has provided India with a golden opportunity to reclaim the number one position, a title they held until March 22nd of this year.

With the ICC ODI Rankings as of 14th September 2023 putting India firmly in second place, having played 39 matches and accumulated an impressive 4516 points, the Men in Blue are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of excellence.

The stakes are set to rise even higher with the impending three-match 50-over series between cricketing giants Australia and India scheduled for the end of this month.
