India A likely to play New Zealand A, and Australia A later this year
Laxman with the Indian side
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is ready to resume its India A tour this year after halting the program during the pandemic. India A will face New Zealand and possibly Australia in India as early as September.
The India A management will include National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman, Sairaj Bahutule, and Sitanshu Kotak, who have been working with age-group cricket since their appointments.
New Zealand A's itinerary
According to ESPNcricinfo, New Zealand A will arrive in India at the end of August and are due to play three four-day and as many List-A games. All matches will take place in Bangalore.
New Zealand A played a day-night Test in Vijayawada on their last India tour, which was strangely a day affair with a pink ball. The authorities are arranging for a pink-ball Test at Chinnaswamy Stadium this time around.
NZ team at Lord's
This is India A's first series since their tour of South Africa last year, ahead of India's national team tour of the African nation.
Is Australia A on the cards?
The BCCI are in talks with Cricket Australia (CA) to arrange an Australian A tour of India by the end of 2022.
They are aiming for a time frame between the start of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 and India's Test series against Bangladesh.
