  • Ind Vs Sa Barabati Stadium All Set To Host The Upcoming T20i With 100 Crowd

IND vs SA | Barabati Stadium all set to host the upcoming T20I with 100% crowd

South Africa are set to play against India in the upcoming five-match T20I series; one of those matches will be held in the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack as the stadium would be hosting the second T20I match.

The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has stated that they are ready to organise the upcoming bilateral series between India and South Africa in the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, with a 100% occupancy, scheduled on June 12.

In the current times, the Covid-19 pandemic has been a barrier for several cricket fanatics experiencing the sport in a stadium. But, things might change and would be favourable for several cricket fanatics.

"The match will be played with 100 per cent spectators capacity, as Odisha Government has allowed to host the match in full seating strength," stated Sanjay Behera, the Secretary of OCA.

Behera also mentioned the arrangements made for security and stadium upgrades. He said, "Comprehensive arrangements have been made to the smooth and successful conduct of the event in collaboration with, State government, police department and other stakeholders.

"The T20 match between India and South Africa will be played under newly installed LED Flood Light (first LED Sports Flood Light in Odisha) and newly laid Sand Based Outfield at Barabati Stadium," added Behera.

As mentioned earlier about the stadium upgrades, the OCA has renovated and developed two brand new dressing rooms of International standards. They have also ordered a full-ground cover from the United Kingdom, covering the whole ground.

Both the teams will be arriving in Bhubaneshwar on June 10. The ticket sales for this match will be open from June 1 for both online and offline modes.

WATCH | '2 Cough Syrup on the rocks': Ravi Shastri's viral avatar in a new advertisement

Former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri has been seen in a new avatar. The popular fintech company has always been innovative with its campaigns and has invited eminent personalities to feature in its ads. After Rahul Dravid's 'Indiranagar ka Gunda' and the 'Boy Band' featuring Jagaval Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, and Maninder Singh, the company has come up with another interesting campaign. The charismatic entity of Indian cricket posted the video on his official Twitter account and captioned it, "Don't remember any of this." Watch the video below: The video starts with Shastri imitating the iconic dialogue of Shahrukh Khan's movie 'Chak de India'. He is seen telling the players that only 70 minutes are left for the happy hours to get completed in a bar, and they should make the most out of it, and echoes, 'Let's party'. In the following sequence, Shastri hits on a girl by saying, "I used to be a batsman, but for you, I can be a keeper." After that, one of the journalists in a press conference asks Shastri about one thing he hates about modern cricket. To which the former all-rounder provides a quirky reply by saying, "Talking to journalists". Later, Shaz asks for "2 cough syrups on the rocks" at a pharmacy. The ad's theme song is based around his famous trademark commentary line, 'he is such a tracer bullet'. The video, which was posted on Saturday afternoon, has gone viral in no time, and people are going spellbound with the one-liners which have become big talking points across all the social media platforms. At present, Shastri is one of the commentators in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. During his stint as a head coach, the Indian team registered their first-ever away Test series win against Australia in 2018-19.
