Aiden Markram was named the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the 2023 IPL season with a hope of carrying a new and rejuvenated SRH side to greater heights. However, they have played 11 games now and have won just four games out of it and have lost some very close games. The game against LSG ended with another heart-breaking loss for them.
Talking after the match, Aiden Markram was naturally very disappointed and mentioned that the loss would be hard to digest. He added that they had a decent score on the board and a big partnership would have taken them over 200-run mark. He added that they would have taken the score they got eventually, but felt that pressure got to them in the end.
"I thought it was a decent score. We batted well and lacked in partnership to not get the 200-run mark. We would have taken that at the start. Definitely. The only time we travelled was short balls. Pressure got the better of us. Stoinis and Pooran got the better of us."
He informed that he did now bowl because of the matchups and added that the guys should express themselves in the upcoming games. He added that he does not know where they stand in the table now and hopes to do well in the upcoming games and finish on a high.
"I am ok. Just the matchups and I did not bowl that's why. Disappointing. The guys must express themselves now. I don't know where we stand in the table and it's so disappointing to say the least. Hope we do well in the remaining games and finish on a high. This will take some recovery to come back from this defeat."
Sunrisers Hyderabad, will now play their next game against GT on 15th of May at Ahmedabad.
