In the latest developments, Jaspirt Bumrah has been advised to take bed rest, and he will not be rushed to cricket soon. Notably, Bumrah suffered a back spasm during the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground and could not bowl for India in the second innings. 

Visuals of Bumrah walking out of the SCG with support staff went viral, and Indian cricket fans were left wondering if the ace pacer would be available for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The current development does give a bit of an idea about his availability for the major event. 

How Long Will Bumrah Be Out Of Action?

The reports suggest that Bumrah has swelling in his back and would have to report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. However, his check-in date is not yet revealed. A top BCCI source has revealed that Bumrah has been advised to rest at home in bed to help the muscles recover and the swelling subsides. The course of action will be determined after that happens.

Is Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of ICC Champions Trophy?

Nothing has yet been revealed about whether Bumrah will be available for the ICC Champions Trophy. However, it is understood that India will announce the name of the star pacer in their squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. The fact that they can make changes in the squad till February 13 will allow India the flexibility to take steps as per the development regarding the fitness of the ace pacer.
