Hameed has been rewarded for his imperious run of form at the top of the order for Trent Bridge side in the recent County Championship 2022 matches played in July.

The former Lancashire opener piled up 366 runs in three matches, including his career-best 196 which came against Derbyshire.

Hameed joined hands with Ben Duckett to etch their names in the history books by cobbling up a 402-run stand from 513 balls – record second wicket partnership for Notts and the fifth highest for that wicket in the history of the County Championship.

The 25-year continued his sublime form in the competition as he smashed 94 runs against Sussex in the second inning of the most recent fixture to guide his side to 256 runs victory.

The Bolton-born, with 912 runs from 18 innings is the sixth highest run-getter in the ongoing season of the County Championship 2022 and second highest run-scorer for his County Club.

Ben Duckett leads the batting chart for Nottinghamshire as the 27-year old has so far scored 1012 runs in 14 innings, including his record-breaking 241-run knock against Derbyshire.

Earlier Alex Hales received the prestigious award for the month of June following his spectacular performance at the top of the order in the latest edition of the English T20 Blast.

The right-hander shellacked 302 runs from nine T20 Blast fixtures in the month of June, including three half-centuries.
