According to emerging reports, Pakistan will make at least one change to their playing XI against Sri Lanka, replacing Hussain Talat with Hasan Nawaz. Led by Agha Salman, Pakistan had a forgettable start to the Asia Cup Super Fours, losing to arch-rivals India for the second consecutive time in the tournament.

Hasan Nawaz likely to come in for Hussain Talat: Report

In a bold move, Pakistan dropped swashbuckling batter Hasan Nawaz from their playing XI against India following three poor outings by the right-hander. However, Hussain Talat, who replaced the batter, managed only ten runs off eleven balls.

More importantly, Talat's timid knock meant Pakistan lost the momentum in the middle overs and finished with 171 runs in 20 overs despite once looking set to breach the 190-run mark. Therefore, considering their encounter against Sri Lanka is a must-win affair for Pakistan, they are likely to bring Hasan Nawaz back into the side, as reported by Geo News journalist Sohail Imran.

Although Hasan Nawaz hasn't been at his best in this Asia Cup, he is regarded as one of the cleanest strikers in the Pakistani team. The explosive batter has amassed 449 runs at a blistering strike rate of 158.1 in 22 innings. His inclusion will certainly solve Pakistan's scoring rate woes in the middle overs, especially with Agha Salman and Mohammad Nawaz struggling to up the ante.

Will Pakistan make Abrar sit out?

While it has been reported that Hasan Nawaz will likely replace Hussain Talat, it won't be surprising if Pakistan bring Sufiyan Muqeem back for the struggling Abrar Ahmed.

Abrar was one of Pakistan's most expensive bowlers against India, conceding 42 runs off his four overs.
