India Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur is currently in England playing a five-match T20I series against the hosts. After three matches, India leads 2-1 and ahead of the 4th clash on July 9, the  Indian High Commission in London prepare a special ceremony to felicitate the girls.

On Sunday, July 6, the Commission arranged the event at Aldwych in Central London which featured a passionate show of patriotism and acknowledged athletes who represent the nation on the international stage.

The event was warm and supported by Indian communities residing in London. Indian tricolour flags were waved along with the national anthem as Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. received a warm welcome from the officials and the large crowd present there. The ceremony also saw fans interacting with the players during the event.

As the Women in Blue already completed three matches and are left with two to bag an away series win, Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom praised the team's performance at the gathering.

"You are not just athletes; you are role models and ambassadors of a rising India," Viram said, as quoted by NDTV.

The next challenge up for India after losing a last-ball thriller to England in the third T20I is on July 9. With the series at stake for the English women, they will give their all to secure their second win. 

Notably, England misses out on their captain Nat Sciver Brunt due to an injury as Tammy Beaumont is set to lead for the rest of the series.
