India's experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a memorable outing in the fourth T20I against England at MCA Stadium in Pune. Coming at number seven, Pandya hammered 53 runs off 30 deliveries, ensuring a defendable total for the home side.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, who has showcased remarkable form in the series, has a golden opportunity to go past legendary batter Rohit Sharma in two elite milestones.

Can Hardik Pandya Surpass Rohit Sharma?

Rohit Sharma, who announced his retirement following India's triumphant run in the T20 World Cup, has amassed 467 T20I runs in 15 innings against England. Interestingly, Pandya is placed just below him, having struck 405 runs in 17 innings at an average of 31.15 and a strike rate of 148.35 against the Englishmen.

Thus, if Pandya scores 63 runs in the final T20I in Mumbai, he will overtake Rohit Sharma on the list. Furthermore, both Pandya and Rohit have same number of half-centuries (3) against England in T20I cricket. So, if Pandya slams his second consecutive fifty in the series, he will eclipse Rohit for the most T20I fifties against England.

Hardik Pandya's Exploits In T20I Series vs England

Hardik Pandya has been one of India's most prolific performers in the England T20Is. Besides scoring 103 runs at an average of 34.33 and a strike rate of 137.33, the all-rounder has scalped five wickets in four outings. Considering the fifth T20I is scheduled at Wankhede Stadium, Pandya is expected to play a significant role for the hosts in the final dead-rubber.
