The star performer for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajat Patidar, is all set to make his comeback to professional cricket after missing cricket for about seven months, which includes the entire 2023 season.

The right-hander suffered an Achilles heel injury early this year, after which he underwent surgery in the month of May. However, after that, he has been in rehabilitation, hoping to return to his domestic side Madhya Pradesh soon.

Now, the positive news for Patidar's fans is that the talented batter has resumed training in the nets.

A few months back, RCB felt a massive hole in their middle order as the batting unit looked a little weak, with not many runs coming from positions four to seven. Patidar was slated to return to the setup during the mid-season, but the extent of the injury proved to be way too much for him to recover on time, which meant that he couldn't join the side at all.

Previously, Rajat received much support on social media for his post, where he informed about his surgery including heartwarming messages from some top cricketers, including Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.

Patidar became a popular figure in the country after his heroic century against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator of IPL 2022, which also was the fastest ton by an Indian in the league's history. Adding to it, he ended the season with 333 runs in just seven games while striking at over 150 and, thus, went home after becoming the third-highest run-scorer for the side after Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli in that season.
