England bowling all-rounder Freya Kemp is out of contention for the five-match T20I series against West Indies.

Kemp is enduring a back injury, which has put limitations on his international appearances.

Currently, Kemp is a part of the squad in the ongoing ODI series against the Caribbean team. However, she could not get a chance in any of the first two fixtures.

So far, the 17-year-old has played 2 ODIs and 9 T20Is since making her international debut in July 2022. In her last appearance against India in the home ODI series, she took 2/24 in seven overs. The talented all-rounder became the youngest English cricketer to hit a fifty in the shortest format.

Kemp was honoured with the Women's Young Player of the Year award by the Professional Cricket Association as well.

England Cricket took to Twitter to update the development regarding Kemp's injury. The left-arm pacer will return to UK for further scans.

Kemp's injury has further put England management under the pump to secure quality replacements. A few days ago, Alice Capsey was also ruled out of the T20I series after sustaining a blow on her left shoulder.

With Issy Wong also recovering from back issues, Katherine Brunt will now hold the key for the Three Lionesses in the West Indies T20I series.

Meanwhile, England have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 against West Indies. Both teams will meet on Sunday for the final fixture of the series.
