Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja revealed that they don't own few of the stadiums, and have to lease them from the local government.

After the attack on the Sri Lanka team in 2009 by 12 gunmen, international cricket had come to a standstill in Pakistan. It was after the hiatus of six years, which witnessed Zimbabwe becoming the first team tour to the Asian country in 2015. The stadiums in UAE had been home for Pakistan all these years.

Earlier in March, the Australian team toured Pakistan after 24 years. The ongoing series saw England visiting the country for the first time after 2005.

With only domestic cricket being played at Pakistan stadiums since the last decade, the control is still in hands of the local government.

In an interview on Sky Sports, Michael Atherton asked Raja about the state infrastructure of the venues which hosted England in the early 2000s. Responding to the question, Raja pointed out that they could not host a U-19 game in Faisalabad due to the political gathering, as it does not have any stake.

However, the 60-year-old also disclosed that Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi are now under their control. He further added that Peshawar stadium will have a state-of-art facility like Dubai, and will be ready in six months to host the PSL games.

"PCB doesn't have its own stadium. We have to take a lease from local government every time," We planned to host the Bangladesh U19 team in Faisalabad but it wasn't possible due to the poor state of the ground after political gathering,

"But, we can assure you that soon Peshawar will get to host some PSL matches."

Meanwhile, the England team leads by 281 runs against Pakistan in the ongoing second Test at Multan. The first game was won by the visitors by 75 runs.
