In a significant development, Multan Sultans have confirmed the inclusion of Ashton Turner as a replacement for injured West Indian opener Johnson Charles for PSL 2025. The change was officially approved by the Pakistan Super League’s technical committee on Friday, April 11, 2025.
Johnson Charles Ruled Out Of PSL 10 Due to Injury
Explosive Caribbean opener Johnson Charles was ruled out of the season due to injury. According to sources, Charles is currently undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of the Cricket West Indies medical panel.
Multan Sultans Welcome Ashton Turner
It is important to mention that Ashton Turner has never featured in the PSL before. But the Australian right-hander arrives with strong T20 credentials. He was in excellent touch during the 2024–25 Big Bash League, and made 240 runs at an impressive strike rate of 147.23 for the Perth Scorchers.
Additionally, he featured in two matches for the Pretoria Capitals in the ongoing SA20 season, scoring 31 runs at a strike rate of 147.61. The 32-year-old is expected to join the Multan Sultans camp next week in Rawalpindi and will likely be available for selection in their upcoming fixtures.
The Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans will kick off their PSL 10 campaign today (April 12) against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena.
