Foot injury rules Gloucestershire's seamer Matt Taylor out of remainder of County Championship

Gloucestershire's left-arm medium-fast bowler Matt Taylor has been ruled out of the remaining County Championship games after sustaining a stress fracture in his foot.

When and how did he sustained the injury?

The 28-year-old has overall made six County Championship appearances this season and picked up eight wickets, including a three-wicket haul against the table-toppers Surrey.

The left-arm seamer sustained the injury during Gloucestershire's Division-One fixture against Essex and will therefore be unavailable for selection for the club for the remainder of the season.

Taylor's consistent performance also saw him earn a new one-year contract extension, which he signed with Gloucestershire earlier in June.

Zak Chappell re-joins Gloucestershire on loan

In another set of development, the Gloucester Club has added Zak Chappell into the squad and the right-arm fast bowler will be available for selection in the club's upcoming fixtures against Hampshire and Northamptonshire.

To note, the 25-year-old has re-joined Gloucestershire on loan. Chappell had earlier joined the club twice on loan, where he ended up plucking three wickets in two County Championship matches and eight wickets in five T20 Blast fixtures.

Speaking of Gloucestershire, the club is having a forgettable County Championship campaign as they have failed to win a single game out of the nine matches they played.
