The fourth edition of SA20 League kick-started on December 26, 2025, with six teams locking horns against each other to lift the prestigious title. The fans are buzzing, and the stadiums are jam-packed to see their favourite stars in action. Besides the cricketing reasons, the fans are also excited about the Betway challenge.
Notably, the SA20 has a special provision for the ongoing season, where the league sponsor Betway, will present 2 Million Rand to the fans who will take a clean one-handed catch during a match.
Fan flaunts catching skill in JSK vs PC SA20 match
The Bethaway challenge took over the internet during the Joburg Super Kings vs Pretoria Capitals match, where two lucky fans claimed a clean one-handed catch on consecutive deliveries. The videos went viral on social media, where the fans were jumping in joy as they were rewarded financially.
A couple also celebrated the catch with a kiss that is now spreading like wildfire on social media. Further, several media houses have claimed that the couple won 2 million rand, which equates to 1.07 crore rupees.
Bursting the myth around 2 Million catch challenge
However, for the unversed, it is not true. Instead, the 2 million rand or 1.07 crore prize is the entire pool, and the prize will be divided among the number of fans.
For example, during SA20 season 3, a total of nine fans took a clean one-handed catch. Therefore, the prize was divided among nine people and an individual won around ₹12 lakh for his effort.
Further, the cheques presented to the winners of the challenge after every match also clearly mention that it is a share of the 2 million rand prize pool.
Therefore, at present, the couple is unaware of the amount that they will be taking back home. Nonetheless, it is guaranteed that they will be heavily financially rewarded.
