The Internet has gone into a shockwave as rumour of Axar Patel's retirement from international cricket has gone viral on social media. Recently, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from Test cricket and now the speculations of Patel bidding adieu to the game has come as a shocker. 

Notably, there is a video that has been doing rounds on the internet which features Axar announcing retirement and this article will reveal the truth behind the viral video.

It is worth noting that there is no truth to Axar Patel's retirement as the video that has spread like fire on the internet is A.I generated. The clip is fake and no such statement has been made by the Delhi Capitals captain. Watch the clip here. 

Nonetheless, the video is being circulated at a rapid pace and the fans are assuming that Patel's decision might have stemmed from the fact that he was not a part of India's Test squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England starting on the 5th of June.
