England have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup, scheduled to take place in October.

How the core forms

Jos Buttler, who has had a rocky start to his white-ball captaincy career is set to lead the Three Lions at the mega event.

England's premium opener, Jason Roy, who has been struggling with form as of late has been axed from the squad. However, Phil Salt has been rewarded for his excellent showing at the domestic cricket and cements his place in the World Cup side.

Seam bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes, who have had their own injury issues have been added to the squad. Both the bowlers last played for England during the Test tour of West Indies in March.

Barring Roy, there is no surprise as the likes of Moeen Ali, Bairstow, Malan and Livingstone form a strong middle order.

Travelling reserves

Liam Dawson, Tymal Mills, and Richard Gleeson have been added to England's traveling reserves side.

The Three Lions will kick-start their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on October 22 in Perth.
