ENG vs IND | ‘The ankle feels pretty good’- Anderson hopeful of playing in Edgbaston Test

India's most anticipated tour of England is set to commence from tomorrow, with the men in blue taking on the home side in the final Test of the five-match series at Edgbaston.

The participation of James Anderson in this Test is in jeopardy as the veteran English seamer hasn't fully recovered from the ankle injury he sustained during the recently concluded home series against New Zealand.

However, Anderson has revealed that his injury has almost been healed as the legendary pacer from Lancashire seems hopeful of making it into England's eleven for the Edgbaston Test.

He talks about recovery from his ankle injury

Speaking to the media, Anderson said that his ankle's condition is pretty good at the moment. With just a day left to the start of the game, he expects himself to be available for selection into England's playing XI.

"The ankle feels pretty good, and I've got a couple of days of practice to get through. If I can do that, hopefully, I'm good for Friday. We'll see what happens," Anderson said.

The unfortunate ankle injury ruled Anderson out of the third Test against New Zealand. The 39-year-old seamer recently reached the milestone of 650 wickets in Tests and expressed his disappointment at missing the Headingley Test.

He also admitted to enjoying playing alongside this fearless bunch of players and sounded optimistic about being back in action this week.

"I hate missing games. It's so much fun playing with this group in the style we have been. It was disappointing to miss the last game, seeing the guys out on the field having a good time and playing well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can get back in this week," the Burnley-born concluded.
