Moeen Ali aspires Test return as McCullum-Stokes era produce stunning results

Moeen Ali, England's trusted Allrounder who had hung his cricketing boots in Test Cricket Back in September 2021, has shown interest in competing for a spot in the team. To follow up on this interest, the Englishman has officially come out of his retirement in tests and wants to be part of Brendon McCullum's plans going ahead.

Brendon McCullum was appointed as the new Head Coach before England hosted New Zealand. McCullum's vision and execution have impressed everybody, and Moeen Ali is no exception.

The 34-year-old intends to come back into the Test Side after having an initial talk about it with Baz. England whitewashed New Zealand in a destructive 3-0 win at Lord's, Trent Bridge & Headingley.

In an interview with former England captain Michael Atherton for the Times, Moeen has revealed that while he is keen to play Test cricket again, he does not want to be "the No one spinner" again. Moeen Ali also said that he had barely watched England play Test Cricket over the last year. But he caught glimpses of New Zealand's tour of England, specifically the previous two Tests.

England is scheduled to tour Pakistan at the end of 2022 to play a 3-match Test Series followed by 7 T20 Internationals. Moeen, with his spin, could be a vital part of the visiting squad. With Jack Leach holding one end, Moeen Ali could pair up with him to attack in spin from the other end and get the most out of the turning tracks in Asia & Middle East.

Before retiring in September 2021, Moeen claimed he struggled to get in the zone while bowling, batting, and in the field. But McCullum's impact on the English Test side has impressed Moeen Ali and triggered his decision to come out of retirement and represent England in Tests again.
