ENG vs IND | Rohit Sharma becomes T20I’s biggest conqueror

Indian captain Rohit Sharma led his side to a series-conquering win in the second T20I against England at Edgbaston. The latest victory also helped Sharma scale a new height in the truncated form of the game, the same format in which he debuted way back in 2007.

As of now, the cricketer has played 127 T20I matches throughout his career. He has also led his national side in 28 of them, yielding 24 victories.

ENG vs IND: Sharma equals Malik for most T20I wins as a player

As a player, the legendary Indian batsman has featured in 86 wins in T20I cricket. He has now equalled former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik in terms of featuring in most T20I wins. Sharma might surpass the record if he manages to lead the ‘Men in Blue’ to a 3-0 whitewash over hosts England.

Malik’s teammate Mohammad Hafeez is third on the elite list by featuring in 70 wins for Pakistan. Former England captain Eoin Morgan featured in 63 wins, while veteran Indian campaigner Virat Kohli and Afghanistan’s gun all-rounder Mohammad Nabi are next on the list with 62 wins each.

Sharma is the only captain in men’s T20I history to win 14 consecutive matches. He has been on a winning streak since he was appointed as full-time Indian skipper last year, leading his side to series wins over New Zealand, Sri Lanka and now England.
