  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar Achieves A Historic Feat Becomes The First Bowler To Bowl 500 Dot Balls In T20is

Bhuvneshwar Kumar achieves a historic feat; becomes the first bowler to bowl 500 dot balls in T20Is

In the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and England, the two matches have been in favour of the visitors. In Layman, they have been thoroughly dominant.

In the second T20I, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was on fire from the start, dismissing both England openers, Jason Roy and Jos Buttler, in his first and second overs, respectively. For the second time in a row, the swing bowler outplayed England's new white ball skipper, putting the hosts under strain from the start. He finished with figures of 3-1-15-3, including the wicket of Richard Gleeson at the end.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is in his finest form in the Indian jersey in a long time. His impeccable bowling and swing have got his team to a terrific start in the powerplay. Well, not only keeping it frugal despite only having two fielders on the boundary, but also exploiting his swing to build pressure and take wickets.

As his performance in yesterday's match suggests, he made T20I history by being the first bowler to deliver 500 dot balls in his whole T20I career. It demonstrates his talent since he bowls during phases of the game when runs are plentiful. He's comfortably clear of the men chasing him - Mitchell Starc and Tim Southee are over 150 dot balls behind him.

I was surprised that the white ball was swinging for a long period, especially in the T20 Format: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Though his ability to swing the ball has been the plus and talking point about his bowling, he is perplexed about how he was able to deliver it.

"Honestly I don't know that (why the ball is swinging). Because I have been here quite a few times, and it didn't swing in the last few series, I played here." stated the Indian pacer.

"So yes, even I was very surprised that the white ball is swinging and swinging for a long period, especially in the T20 format. And that there is more bounce on the wicket as well. So yes, when the ball swings, you enjoy it more." added Kumar.

With India sealing the three-match series in style, the two teams would be up against each other for the third T20I today (10 July) at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series between India and England.
