In a heartwarming development for the England Cricket Team and its fans, fast bowler Ollie Robinson has been declared fit to join the national side ahead of the upcoming Ashes 2023. Robinson recently reported discomfort in his ankle during the county championship fixture for Sussex against Glamorgan in Hove last week.

He did not take the field on the 3rd day and was seen sporting crutches and a protective boot, leading to fears about his involvement in the Ashes next month.

But, scans on Monday confirmed that the tall pacer is fit to continue his training ahead of the marquee series.

Here's what ECB said:

"Scan results have revealed no damage to the ankle and that Robinson will join up with the England men's Test squad this weekend ahead of the LV= Insurance Test match against Ireland starting on Thursday, June 1 at Lord's."

Robinson has been quite a revelation at the Test level ever since he made his debut against New Zealand two summers ago.

The tall seamer has worked on his fitness in recent times, which has made him more lethal. Robinson claimed a bucket full of wickets in the recent county championship fixtures for Sussex, and he is likely to be a big threat for the Aussie right-handers due to his vicious nip-backer.

The Ashes will get underway in Birmingham on June 16.
