Dwayne Bravo has hit out at the West Indies selection committee for ignoring his brother Darren Bravo from West Indies squad for their upcoming ODI series against England. The cricket board overlooked 34-year-old Darren in favor of young players Alick Athanaze and Keacy Carty by taking the 2027 World Cup preparations into consideration.

Former captain Dwayne Bravo questioned the selector’s call by citing Darren’s recent numbers in domestic competitions, and claimed that the new system under Desmond Haynes and Darren Sammy has once again failed West Indies cricket.

Dwayne Bravo lashes out at West Indies cricket

Dwayne Bravo took to his Instagram account and expressed his disappointment over his brother Darren’s exclusion from the West Indies ODI team. The legendary all-rounder mentioned Darren Bravo’s batting numbers from the recently-concluded Super50 Cup 2023 and further added that he had hoped for better decisions under the new West Indies cricket management.

The 40-year-old wrote:

“When will the BS stop?! 😤 I'm not surprised by my brother's non-selection, but with the recent changes in WI cricket management, I held onto a bit of hope for the better."

“To Mr. Desmond Haynes, your statement didn't surprise me. It feels like another former player singing for his supper. I hoped for trust in the system with figures like you, Sammy, and the new director of cricket, but the system failed again.”

Earlier this year, the West Indies cricket team failed to qualify for the 2023 World Cup in India after coping defeats to Netherlands, Scotland and Sri Lanka during the Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

Under Shai Hope, they are now slated to host England in a three-match ODI series and for five additional T20I matches at home. The series will commence with the ODI segment, and the first match will be played in Antigua on December 3. Here is a look at West Indies entire 15-player squad for the ODI series against England:

Shai Hope (c), Alzarri Joseph (vc), Alick Athanaze, Yannic Cariah, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Matthew Forde, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, Kjorn Ottley, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd and Oshane Thomas.
