Duleep Trophy 2023: BCCI Announces Squads For The Prestigious Zonal Tournament

In the latest development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squads for the upcoming edition of the Duleep Trophy.

The prestigious zonal tournament is all set to commence on June 28, 2023, with the summit clash locked in for July 12.

The finalists of the previous edition- South Zone and West Zone- will get automatic entry into the semi-finals, while the remaining berths will be filled by the winners of Quarterfinal 01- Central Zone v East Zone- and Quarterfinal 02, which will take place between North Zone and North-East Zone.

The Alur Cricket Ground will play host to Quarterfinal 01 and the 1st semi-final, the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will be the venue for the remainder of knockout fixtures, including the grand finale.

While Mandeep Singh and Priyank Panchal will lead the North and West Zone respectively, former Indian Test player Hanuma Vihari will captain South Zone.

Veteran opener Abhimanyu Easwaran will take the command of East Zone while Shivam Mavi and Rongsen Jonathan will lead the Central and North-East Zone respectively.

On that note, here's a look at the respective squads for Duleep Trophy 2023:

North Zone: Mandeep Singh (Captain), Prashant Chopra, Dhruv Shorey, Manan Vohra, Prabhsimran Singh (wicketkeeper), Ankit Kumar, AS Kalsi, Harshit Rana, Abid Mushtaq, Jayant Yadav, Pulkit Narang, Nishant Sandhu, Sidharth Kaul, Vaibhav Arora, Baltej Singh.

Central Zone: Shivam Mavi (Captain), Upendra Yadav (vice-captain and wicketkeeper), Vivek Singh, Himanshu Mantri, Kunal Chandela, Shubham Sharma, Amandeep Khare, Rinku Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Dhruv Jurel, Saurabh Kumar, Manav Sathar, Saransh Jain, Avesh Khan, Yash Thakur.
