In the ongoing 2023 Deodhar Trophy, Riyan Parag played an exceptional innings for East Zone against North Zone. Facing a top-order collapse, Parag displayed tremendous character and aggression with a brilliant knock. He scored a breathtaking 131 runs off just 102 balls, smashing 5 fours and an impressive 11 sixes.

Entering the crease at number six, Parag formed a sensational partnership with wicket-keeper Kumar Kushagra, adding a remarkable 235 runs for the sixth wicket. Throughout the partnership, Parag dominated the bowling attack, finding boundaries with ease and completed his century in the 41st over.

This century marked Parag's fourth in List A cricket, and he has also accumulated seven fifties. His highest List A score is 174, and overall, he has amassed over 1,450 runs in 45 List A matches at an average of over 36, with a strike rate of above 96. Additionally, as a leg-break bowler, he has taken 43 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.88. He also successfully picked up four wickets.

The partnership between Parag and Kushagra was not only remarkable for East Zone but also the highest partnership of the 2023 Deodhar Trophy. Their efforts helped East Zone post a massive total of 337/8.
