The veteran opener David Warner is enduring a difficult period in Test cricket as he continues to struggle in the ongoing Ashes 2023.  Australian star made an announcement regarding his future in Test cricket in June 2023 stating that he would like to end his Test career with a new year Test in 2024. However, a picture posted by David Warner's wife, Candice, after the Headingley Test has only intensified speculations over his retirement and the suspense behind his future is increasing with each passing day.

In such a scenario, David Warner's recent story has only added fuel to that speculation where he shared a glimpse of his passport, leaving fans to wonder if he is indeed returning to Australia. The big question that remains unanswered is whether Warner will be considered for the Manchester test.

During the Ashes 2023, the southpaw has managed to score only 141 runs in three Tests thus far. Following Australia's loss in the Leeds Test, doubts have arisen regarding Warner's assured place in the starting lineup for the upcoming match in Manchester.

The left-hander was dismissed by Stuart Broad for a 17th time and he hasn’t scored a Test century outside Australia in nearly six years. Since the start of the 2019 Ashes, Warner has averaged 8.33 against Broad in Tests with a strike rate of 36.2, which simply raised question for Warner.

Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh was brought into the team as a replacement for the injured Cameron Green, but Green is expected to recover in time for the fourth Test. Marsh's exceptional performance has raised questions about whether Australia might consider playing both all-rounders at Old Trafford, potentially resulting in Warner's exclusion and the inclusion of Travis Head in the opening slot.

The fourth Test is scheduled to start on 19th of July with Australia leading the series 2-1 and it promises to be another cracking Test match of what is turning out to be a riveting series.
