Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been nowhere close to their best in the IPL 2025. Led by MS Dhoni, the five-time champions have lost eight of their ten matches, languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table. Meanwhile, a fresh report has highlighted how CSK ignored several suggestions from their scouting team, eventually paying the price for it.

Priyansh Arya Was Recommended To CSK; Report Claims

Punjab Kings' young batting sensation Priyansh Arya has taken the cricketing world by storm with his scintillating performances. The swashbuckling southpaw announced himself with a blistering ton, cementing his place as an opener in the team.

Meanwhile, an Indian Express report on CSK's persisting IPL 2025 struggles has revealed that Arya was initially scouted by the Super Kings before joining PBKS setup.

The report highlights how CSK's reluctance to dynamism resulted in their abysmal performance in the IPL 2025. It even recollects how the Super Kings let go talents like Varun Chakravarthy and B Sai Sudharsan only after getting them included in their setup.

CSK Head Coach Slams Management For Messy Auction

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming minced no words while slamming the management for its blunders in the IPL mega auction last year.

"We have been able to be consistent for so long and it doesn’t take much for it to go another way. Other teams have got better and that is the point of the auction. But we just haven’t been able to get it right," Fleming had confessed, assessing CSK's underwhelming IPL 2025 campaign.

The Super Kings adopted an extremely orthodox approach, buying the likes of R Ashwin, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi. All of these players failed to live up to the hype, raising serious question marks over their auction strategy and planning ahead of the season.
