Ruturaj Gaikwad has taken a divine route in the hopes of attaining some good fortunes ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 season. Set to lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in the two-month competition, Gaikwad was spotted attending a famous temple in Pune to take the blessings of Dagdusheth Ganapati before departing for Chennai.
The 28-year-old cricketer recently led the Maharashtra team in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy seasons.
CSK captain seeks good fortunes before IPL 2025
Indian cricketer and CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad recently attended the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir in Pune to seek the blessings of Dagdusheth Ganapati. In a viral picture circulating on social media, Gaikwad can be spotted posing in front of the Dagdusheth Ganapati statue alongside his family and friends.
Prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction last year, Ruturaj Gaikwad became one of the five cricketers to be retained by the CSK franchise alongside MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube and Matheesha Pathirana. Notably, the blistering top-order batter was retained for a staggering sum of Rs.18 crore.
He took over leadership responsibility of CSK mere days prior to the launch of the IPL 2024 season last year after regular skipper MS Dhoni stepped down from the position. While the ‘Yellow Brigade’ failed to make it to the playoffs, Gaikwad has listed nearly 600 runs for the franchise in each of the previous two editions of the tournament.
CSK IPL 2025 schedule
The CSK franchise will launch its IPL 2025 campaign with a match against Mumbai Indians on March 23 in Chennai. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will subsequently face RCB at home, before travelling to Guwahati for their first away match of the season.
