County Championship 2022 | Adam Rossington signs a three-year contract with Essex

Before signing for Essex, Adam Rossington played nearly 200 games for Northamptonshire and scored more than 7,000 runs for the club across all formats in the eight-year-long journey with the Northants.

Ahead of the 2019 season, he was named the new Northants Club Captain. His journey with the Northants started in 2014 when he joined Northamptonshire on loan, a move that was made permanent at the end of the season.

The wicketkeeper-batter is currently on loan, joining Essex at the start of the season. He took over the keeping duties from Adam Wheater. In the County Championship, he has scored 235 runs at an average of 29.37 and completed ten catches, and one stumping in six County Championship matches. In the T20 Blast, he scored an additional 152 runs in 11 appearances while batting at the top of the order.

"Whilst I'm keen to continue my journey with Essex and excited about the future, I'm very grateful for my time with Northamptonshire and would like to thank all of the brilliant supporters for their consistent support over the years. To my teammates at Wantage Road, it's been a pleasure to have shared a dressing room with you," said Adam Rossington on his signing with Essex.

"Since joining [Essex] on loan a few months, everybody at Chelmsford has made me feel extremely welcome. It's a great dressing room to be involved in, and the amount of talent and determination in there is second to none. The members and fans have also been great. The support we've received during my short time here so far has been amazing, and hopefully, we can repay that with more victories and some silverware come the end of the season," added Rossington.

"Adam (Rossington) has been a great addition to the dressing room and has fit into the team seamlessly. He's done a good job for us with both the bat and the gloves in all formats, and we've also benefitted from his leadership qualities and experience," said Essex head coach Anthony McGrath.

"Securing him for three years is a great coup for the club, and hopefully, he can help us push on from our decent start to the campaign going into the business end of the season and beyond," concluded McGrath.
