The ICC Men's ODI World Cup's 13th edition is scheduled to kick off in India on October 5. Ten teams will battle it out in the group stage, vying for the prestigious trophy.

The World Cup 2023 will kick off with a repeat of the 2019 final between England and New Zealand. The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to be played on October 14 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With just under a week remaining until the World Cup kick-off, the renowned West Indies batter Chris Gayle has made his call on the top two teams destined for the finals of the 2023 World Cup.

During an interview with Star Sports Network, the hard-hitting batter predicted the host nation and the arch-rival Pakistan to play the final of the World Cup 2023.

Pakistan was set to enter the ICC World Cup 2023 as early favourites, but their fortunes took a hit when star fast bowler Naseem Shah was ruled out of the prestigious tournament due to a shoulder injury.

Now, their prospects appear uncertain, especially after a recent warm-up match defeat to New Zealand, where their bowlers struggled against the Kiwi batters.

On the other hand, India marches into the tournament as the undisputed favourites, with all their players hitting top form in preparation.

Their fast bowlers, in particular, seem to be in exceptional shape. The question on everyone's mind is whether India can break their decade-long ICC trophy drought.
