The tug of War of the Champions Trophy is still going on. As the days pass and the marquee is coming close, the final decision regarding the venues is still under the cover. The final decision has been still struck into the triangle of the ICC, BCCI, and PCB. The wait becomes longer for the final call.

After 2017, the prestigious Champions Trophy is coming back. After long, Pakistan is all set to host the tournament. However, the political tension between India and Pakistan become a great barrier to India’s participation in the event. After several meetings and discussions, the fate of the Champions Trophy 2025 remained undecided.

December 11 Fails To Deliver A Conclusion

After the news came about the Champions Trophy’s rearrival, fans were ready to experience the excitement of the prestigious ICC event. The Pakistan fans were more excited as the country is all set to host any ICC events after a long. But soon the excitement turned into wait. India’s participation became a matter of discussion.

From February 19 onwards Champions Trophy 2025 is set to go live and the final match is set to take place on March 9. Standing at that point, the final schedule is yet to come. After several meetings and countless discussions, the cricket boards are still unable to come under the roof. As per the reports, the final schedule for the event was scheduled to come out. But the fans became disappointed again as ICC didn’t disclose anything about the event.

BCCI And PCB’s Different Stand On The Format

India-Pakistan’s rivalry is known to everybody, whether it’s in cricket or politics. International relations deteriorated in the past few years and that impacted cricket heavily. After 2011, Team India never traveled to their neighboring land due to security concerns. As the Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to unfold in Pakistan, Team India is not ready to travel to the country and suggested a hybrid format instead.

In reply to this, the Pakistan Cricket Board denied that initially. Later they said they would ask for the hybrid format whenever India hosts any global event in the upcoming three years. That becomes a headache for the rest. As they are not ready to adapt to the hybrid format, the cricket board is facing challenges. In between this, Pakistan proposed to play a tri-series with India and any other nation. However, the idea has been turned down by the ICC and BCCI.

As the tournament is coming close, the wait has become longer. It’s less than 90 days left for the global event but the final schedule is still not here. Along with the cricket boards, the broadcasters are eagerly waiting for ICC’s final nod. After December 11, the cricket fraternity needs to wait more to see the final schedule of the Champions Trophy 2025.
